In Purchasing Development, our assignment goes hand in hand with the IKEA Business Idea as we are responsible for producing a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible can afford them. Together with our suppliers, we produce IKEA products with affordability, accessibility, sustainability, and quality as our main priorities.
Material transformation is one of IKEA's key strategic focus areas. As we increase the use of renewable, recycled, and innovative materials while reducing the environmental footprint of our products, understanding the impacts of materials and supply chains becomes increasingly important. We want to identify opportunities, evaluate emerging material solutions, and support the transition towards more sustainable affordable products. And that is where you, together with the Material Impact Assessment team, come in!
Job Description
As a Material Impact Analyst, you will help IKEA understand and reduce the environmental impacts of materials, products, and supply chains. By combining scientific analysis with business understanding, you will provide the data, insights, and recommendations needed to support material innovation, product development, sourcing decisions, and long-term sustainability goals.

You will report to the Material Impact Manager in Purchasing Development, Core Business Supply.
Qualifications
This role is critical to building and maintaining IKEA's internal capability to assess and improve the environmental performance of materials and products. Beyond delivering LCAs, you will contribute through supplier engagement, methodology development, environmental data management, environmental claims review, and strategic support for business decisions.
You will work closely with stakeholders across sustainability, materials, product development, sourcing, engineering, supply chain, climate, quality, and data management functions. Collaboration with colleagues and partners across multiple countries and business areas will be a natural part of your everyday work.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, curious, and self-driven, with a strong ability to build trust and work effectively across functions, disciplines, and countries. You combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder management skills and can translate complex environmental insights into clear and actionable recommendations. You are motivated by continuous learning and improvement and enjoy finding practical solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
