About the roleAs Department Manager, Engineering Casting, you will be responsible for leading and developing the department, its people, and its business. You will create the conditions for collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainable results across the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and develop a diverse department of approximately 100 employees.
• Optimize foundry processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and long-term competitiveness.
• Balance tactical and strategic priorities across current production and future process development.
• Support the development of skills and capabilities among colleagues and employees.
• Lead change and improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Ensure successful implementation of projects and process solutions.
• Support today’s production through strong cooperation with relevant functions.
• Build relationships and promote an inclusive environment where people can contribute and thrive.
• Contribute to experience exchange and cross-functional collaboration within the Foundry function.

You will report to the Head of the Engineering function in Skövde. You will also be a member of the Engineering management team and an active participant in the Foundry function’s management team.

Who you areWe are looking for a leader who combines engineering expertise with a genuine interest in people and business development. You have a coaching and communicative leadership style and are comfortable leading in a complex, cross-functional environment.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• An academic degree in engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in engineering processes and production operations.
• Proven experience as a manager, preferably with experience leading other managers or leaders.
• Experience of change management, continuous improvement, and business development.
• The ability to connect strategic direction with operational execution.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build trust across functions and organizational levels.
• A passion for developing people, teams, and technical capabilities.
• You are someone who helps the people around you grow. You create clarity, involve others in change, and encourage collaboration and accountability. You are able to navigate both long-term strategic questions and immediate operational needs, while keeping people and business results at the centre.
