Role Summary

An experienced Solution Architect is needed to help shape future banking technology solutions, with a focus on domain-oriented data products and APIs. The role is responsible for setting architectural direction and establishing a coherent architecture across multiple delivery streams. You will work at the intersection of business, technology and data, collaborating closely with architects, development teams, product owners and senior stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and resilient solutions.

You will define and evolve architectural principles, target architecture and roadmaps for data products and domain APIs. The assignment requires ensuring that business capabilities, data, integrations and technology platforms are aligned, while identifying dependencies and interfaces between domains and guiding teams in technical choices and solution design.

Key Responsibilities

• Set architectural direction across multiple teams, products and technology domains.
• Define and maintain architectural principles, target-state architecture and roadmaps for data products and domain APIs.
• Ensure alignment between business capabilities, data, integrations and underlying technology platforms.
• Identify cross-domain dependencies, interfaces and integration needs, and support teams in solution design and technical decision-making.
• Establish reusable data products with clear ownership, high data quality, and defined practices for metadata, data lineage and lifecycle management.
• Develop the API landscape through principles and standards for API contracts, versioning, security, observability and reusable integration patterns.
• Define functional and non-functional requirements at solution level, including availability, performance, security, scalability and operability.
• Create architectural conditions that support sustainable development, continuous delivery and future change.
• Act as a trusted advisor and mentor to teams and fellow architects, communicating complex architectural decisions clearly and enabling effective decentralised decision-making.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Strong solution, domain or enterprise architecture experience in large-scale environments.
• Proven ability to design and deliver large-scale data, API and integration solutions.
• Experience defining API contracts, API versioning strategies, API security standards and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of data-product architecture, metadata management, data lineage, data quality and data lifecycle management.
• Ability to define architecture for non-functional requirements, including security, resilience, availability, performance, scalability and operability.
• Experience working with observability practices for APIs and distributed solution landscapes.
• Experience supporting continuous delivery through sound architectural principles and technical governance.

Qualifications & Experience

You have substantial experience in Solution Architecture, Domain Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or a comparable senior architecture role. You have a documented track record of designing and delivering data, API and integration solutions at scale, as well as leading architecture work across several teams, products or technology domains.

A strong understanding of banking technology systems and business processes is required. You should be comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments with high expectations for security, resilience and data governance. Experience with core banking platforms is highly advantageous.
