You will help build and evolve a centralized control plane that manages infrastructure components in a large-scale automotive environment. The product sits close to the heart of the platform landscape and needs to be reliable, secure, scalable, and easy for internal teams to use. You will work in a cloud-native setup where Kubernetes, Crossplane, GitOps, and observability are core building blocks, together with teams focused on platform, infrastructure, and developer experience. If you like turning complex infrastructure into well-designed platform capabilities, this role gives you the chance to shape a production-grade product with real impact.

• You will design, build, and evolve a centralized infrastructure control plane using Crossplane and Kubernetes.
• You will develop backend services, controllers, and APIs in Go to support infrastructure abstraction and platform capabilities.
• You will design and maintain custom Kubernetes operators and Crossplane functions for complex production use cases.
• You will drive GitOps-based deployment and infrastructure workflows with Argo CD.
• You will improve reliability, scalability, security, and observability across large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
• You will collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, and developer experience teams to create practical solutions for internal engineering users.

• Strong hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes APIs, controllers, and extensibility.
• Hands-on experience with Crossplane composition design and development.
• Experience developing custom Crossplane functions for infrastructure abstraction.
• Strong hands-on experience building backend services, controllers, and APIs in Go.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining custom Kubernetes operators.
• Strong hands-on experience with production-grade Argo CD and GitOps-based deployment workflows.
• Hands-on experience with observability tooling and strong working knowledge of Grafana Cloud.
• Strong experience designing and operating workloads on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong operational knowledge of large-scale, enterprise-grade infrastructure and production systems.
• Proven experience contributing to complex, production-grade products.

Volvo Cars require that an adequate background check has been completed prior to the start of the assignment, meaning that you, as the supplier, must have conducted the requested level/-s of background check as soon as possible after your candidate has been chosen for the assignment.

• Experience with AWS or OpenShift.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling that improves developer productivity.
• Strong understanding of the Backstage system model and experience integrating Backstage with internal platform tooling.
• Experience working in platform engineering or developer experience teams.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure control planes and internal developer platforms.
