About Dockstr
Dockstr is a marine and offshore equipment specialist providing advisory, brokering and distribution services. We are an independent adviser and intermediary in a highly technical market, so there is an engineering element to almost everything we do.
The industries we serve range from offshore wind and ocean science to subsea telecom and vessel operations. Across all of them we handle remotely operated vehicles, diving systems, survey spreads, marine equipment and vessels, new and pre owned. That means valuations, market analysis, strategic advice and the transactions themselves.
Most of our work comes from clients who have used us before, or who were referred by someone who has. Recent work includes:
About the role
This is an entry level sales role within our brokering team. Everything else in this job supports that: the research, the data, the market knowledge. They exist so you can sell better. We hire on attitude and raw ability rather than industry experience, and we hire few people, so the person we take on matters.
Year one is about earning your place in the squad. You start with the straightforward work: researching equipment, owners and market activity, and using and improving the dataset behind Meridian, our market intelligence platform. From there you take on more. Making contact with buyers and sellers, sitting in on live enquiries, and learning the equipment, the market and the commercial process by working on real transactions rather than in training. You will not be left alone with a phone and a target. You will be working alongside people who have spent their careers in this industry.
Responsibility comes as fast as you earn it, not by tenure. Depending on your ability and your aspirations you may also contribute to the advisory side of the business alongside our senior team: valuations, market analysis and strategic work for clients making significant decisions.
What we are looking for is straightforward to describe and rare to find. Someone smart, who communicates exceptionally well, who is comfortable picking up the phone to a stranger and equally comfortable being the least knowledgeable person in a technical conversation until they are not. Someone who learns fast, wants responsibility early and can be trusted with it. Someone who has already made AI part of how they work and think rather than waiting to be shown, because our processes change constantly and we expect this person to be part of why. Rejection is part of the job, so we need someone who takes it in their stride.

How to apply
Apply by email to [email protected]. Send your CV and three short paragraphs:
Why you can sell. Tell us what it is about you that makes you think you would be good at this.
Why you. What are you genuinely good at, better than most, and how do you know? One real strength, not a balanced profile.
You and AI. We are not looking for a coder. We are looking for someone who uses these tools well and would help us use them better. Tell us where you are with that.
We read every application and review them as they arrive, so early applications have an advantage. No agencies.
If we take your application forward, the first step is a short video: tell us why we should consider you, and sell yourself to us. No production values required, a phone recording is fine.
