Role Purpose
Supervise field installation of piping works — including pipe bridges/racks, underground piping, and overground steel piping — ensuring construction is executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities
• Directly supervise piping installation crews (fitters, welders, riggers) across pipe bridge, underground, and overground work fronts.
• Review and work from isometrics, P&IDs, and GA drawings; ensure installation matches approved design and specifications.
• Coordinate pipe support and pipe rack/bridge installation with the structural steel discipline; sequence underground piping with civil works (trenching, bedding, backfill).
• Monitor and enforce compliance with piping codes (e.g. ASME B 31.3/B31.1) and project HSE requirements on the work front.
• Witness and coordinate quality activities: fit-up, welding, NDE, hydrotesting, and flushing; manage punch listing through to mechanical completion.
• Track daily progress against schedule; report status, manpower, and material needs to the Piping Superintendent.
• Resolve field issues and interface conflicts with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, E&I).
• Maintain daily reports, as-built markups, and other construction documentation.
Requirements
• 8+ years of piping construction experience on large industrial/energy EPC projects, including direct crew supervision.
• Working knowledge of piping codes and standards, welding processes, and NDE requirements.
• Demonstrated field experience with underground piping and pipe bridge/rack installation.
• Strong drawing literacy (isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings) and daily progress/quality reporting.
• Valid HSE/site safety certifications as required by the project; willing to work project rotation schedule.
Schedule
Rotation: 4 weeks on-site / 1 week off, full-time for the duration of construction.
