Head of Technology
Location: Sweden (Remote/Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Head of Technology to lead the technical direction of a growing
software company developing digital products. The successful candidate will provide technical
leadership, guide engineering teams, and help shape the company's technology strategy while
maintaining a strong understanding of software architecture and modern development practices.
Responsibilities
• Lead the architecture, development, and long-term technical strategy for mobile and web
applications.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle from planning and implementation through
deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams through technical guidance, performance coaching,
and knowledge sharing.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, including testing, agile development, sprint
planning, code review, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product, design, and executive leadership to define technical roadmaps and
engineering priorities.
• Support the development of reusable software components, internal tools, and engineering
standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices to improve product quality, reliability,
and development efficiency.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or
equivalent professional experience.
• At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams or serving in a senior technical
leadership role.
• Extensive experience developing native mobile applications using Swift.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, performance optimization,
and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience developing backend services using a modern web application framework (such as
Ruby on Rails, Django, ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot, or Node.js).
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern software deployment practices.
• Experience using Git and agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing software for Apple platforms beyond iOS (such as tvOS, watchOS,
macOS, or visionOS).
• Experience building or supporting applications that incorporate streaming video or other rich
media technologies.
• Experience with modern web application frameworks, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and
CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing or operating scalable software systems.
• Experience leading distributed or remote engineering teams.
• Experience delivering high-availability software products.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
