We're looking for a Product Engineer who enjoys solving customer problems end-to-end rather than working within narrowly defined technical boundaries. You'll work closely with product, design, AI engineers, and customers to turn ideas into impactful features that are used on vessels around the world.

What you'll do

As a Product Engineer, you'll own features throughout their entire lifecycle—from idea to production.

You'll:

• Design, build, and ship customer-facing features across web, cloud, and mobile platforms.
• Work closely with customers, designers, and AI engineers to understand problems and rapidly validate solutions.
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and modern frontend applications.
• Build intuitive experiences that make complex vessel and AI data easy to understand.
• Use AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar to accelerate development and improve software quality.
• Improve product performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in architecture decisions while balancing technical excellence with customer value.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Continuously iterate based on customer feedback and product analytics.

What we're looking for

We care more about your ability to build great products than checking every technology box.

Experience

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and shipping customer-facing SaaS products.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to translate user problems into elegant technical solutions.
• Comfortable working across the full stack when needed.

Technical Skills

Experience with several of the following:

• TypeScript (React, Node.js)
• Python (FastAPI or similar)
• REST APIs and microservice architectures
• AWS cloud services (Lambda, Cognito, S3, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Timestream, etc.)
• Docker and containerised deployments
• Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CDK
• CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices

AI-First Engineering

We're looking for engineers who embrace the next generation of software development.

You should be comfortable using tools such as:

• Claude Code
• Cursor
• Codex
• GitHub Copilot
• or similar AI development environments

These tools are part of our everyday workflow and help us build faster while maintaining high quality.

Bonus Points

Experience in one or more of these areas is a plus:

• Data visualisation or geospatial applications
• Flutter mobile development
• Android development and hardware integrations (USB, Bluetooth, Serial)
• Real-time data systems
• AI/ML product integration
• Cloud monitoring and observability (Datadog)
• Performance optimisation of distributed systems
• Data analysis and experimentation
