Backend Software Engineer – Java, Scala & Cloud Technologies

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with experience in modern Java development, cloud technologies, and distributed systems.

You will work on modernizing backend services, improving development processes, and contributing to scalable cloud-based solutions within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Modernize backend services using the latest Java, Scala, and framework versions.
• Develop and improve scalable backend applications and distributed systems.
• Migrate authentication solutions to modern OAuth-based architectures.
• Build data migration pipelines and backend services for large-scale systems.
• Automate development activities using modern AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Contribute to technical improvements, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and product teams.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java development.
• Experience with Scala or willingness to work extensively with Scala.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or Play Framework.
• Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, and OAuth.
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development.

Meritorious

• Experience with Apache Spark.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development or GenAI tooling.
• Experience with large-scale backend modernization projects.
