Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a HIL Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The role
We are seeking experienced engineers to support development, operation, and maintenance of Complete Test Objects (HIL, VIL, Boxcar, Vehicle) with a strong focus on HMI, Body, and Core domains.
The role involves enabling CSIV testing, ensuring robust and high-quality test capabilities, and performing end-to-end (E2E) validation of software baselines for SPA2 and SPA3 platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, build, and integrate HMI, Body & Core rigs and test capabilities across HIL, VIL, Boxcar, and vehicle-level environments
- Manage full lifecycle of test rigs including operation, maintenance, and continuous optimization (“nursing”) to ensure system stability and quality
- Enable and support CSIV testing through scalable and reliable complete-level test environments
- Execute E2E verification and validation of software baselines at system and vehicle level
- Integrate and validate ECUs, hardware, models, and mechatronic components, including:
- VCU, Zonal Controllers (ZC), VIU, ASWM, AUD, CSD, DHU, DIM, HUD, HUS, OJC, TCAM, WPC, RCSM, SWM, Door ECUs, Light ECUs, LPC, NFCA, PSMx, SRCx, UWB Antennas, Seat ECUs, BBS, Side Mirror ECUs, POT, and associated plant models
- Analyze test results, perform fault tracing and root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution
- Drive continuous improvements and enhancements to test capabilities and support additional domains (e.g., Propulsion, ADAS, Chassis) as required
Experience/Background
- 8+ years of automotive experience in HIL systems and complete vehicle-level testing
- Strong expertise in dSPACE toolchain (ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk) for HIL development and integration
- Strong expertise in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development and system validation in the body domain.
- Solid understanding of automotive E/E architecture, SW/HW integration, and baseline management
- Strong competence in test automation, validation workflows, and fault tracing/debugging
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CAPL) and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Programming experience in CAPL, Python, and C
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation infrastructure
- Proficiency with Git, command-line environments, and SSH-based systems
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced HMI validation, connectivity systems, and body electronics testing
- Exposure to ASPICE and ISO 26262 standards
- Hands-on experience in lab infrastructure, rig setup, and system integration
- Knowledge of multi-domain integration (ADAS, Propulsion, Chassis systems)
