About the role
As a Data Scientist, you’ll play an important part in supporting data‑driven decision‑making and optimizing business processes within Range Operations.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain data science models and products that enable insights, automation, and optimisation across IKEA.
Your primary focus will be to transform data into reusable, transparent, and high‑quality data science solutions that support both business and product teams.

On a typical working day, you will:
- Translate business challenges into data, and algorithm-driven problem statements
- Collect, integrate, and prepare structured and unstructured data from sources such as relational databases and file/document storage systems
- Design, develop, and maintain machine learning models and supporting data science infrastructure
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to solve real business problems
- Collaborate closely with product teams and stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into data-driven solutions
- Communicate insights, findings, and recommendations in a clear and actionable way to decision-makers and non-technical audiences
- Build reusable, transparent, and high-quality data science solutions that enable insights, automation, and optimization at scale
- Contribute to improved data-driven decision-making and business process optimization across Range Operations
- Ensure all solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with both business and product objectives
The role as a Data Scientist requires you to have:
- Experience building applications leveraging Generative AI foundation models and related technologies
- Strong proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL (or similar), with experience in cloud-based data environments
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and applied data science
- Good knowledge of data modelling, data transformation, and end-to-end analytical workflows
- Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources
- Ability to translate complex business problems into data science and analytical solutions using structured and logical thinking
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Structured, quality-focused, and collaborative working style with the ability to work independently and across multidisciplinary teams.
- An IKEA experience is a must
