Job description: Let's introduce ourselvesThe Propulsion Electronics Lab is Volvo Cars’ center for testing inverters and electric machines. As we move into the future, we rely on state-of-the-art methods to test and verify next-generation Electric machines and Inverters in a highly efficient and accurate way.
Do you want to work as a Test Engineer in a complex test environment featuring engine emulators, battery simulators, dynos, HiL and advanced measurement systems that can be fully automated? If so, the role of Test Engineer at the Propulsion Electronics Lab is where you can truly grow. The position requires both strong practical skills and solid theoretical understanding.
What you'll doIn this role, you will prepare test objects and plan, execute, and analyze tests in close collaboration with stakeholders. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the testbed as well as ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
You will program the automated test system, create test cycles, evaluate results, and manage troubleshooting as issues arise. This requires an open mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
You will also develop your competence by contributing to the development and specification of new test methods, as well as exploring new test equipment and software. The position gives you the opportunity to build a broad network within R&D and across the laboratory organization.
What you'll bringWe value experience working in laboratory and test environments, including equipment setup, safety procedures and handling complex lab systems. Knowledge of ethernet communication, test automation systems such as PUMA and PA-tools is highly appreciated. Experience in setting up, troubleshooting, and fault tracing complex systems that combine hardware and software is meritorious as well as technical understanding of inverters and electric machines.
· M.Sc. or B.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
· Experience from HW verification or test method development
· Experience within Validation & Verification
· Experience in CAN, MATLAB & Simulink,
· Knowledge in embedded programming, C, python.
