ABB Traction plays a critical role in shaping the future of electrified mobility. Through our traction motors and Mobile ePower solutions, we enable customers globally to achieve higher efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in rail and off-highway applications. As part of our strategic growth agenda, we are appointing a Global Product Line Manager and Local Division Manager Sweden for our Motion Traction Division.

In this dual leadership role, you will serve as Global Product Line Manager for Traction Motors and Local Division Manager in Sweden and be a key member of the Business Line Traction Products Management Team. Reporting to the Head of Business Line, you hold full end-to-end accountability for the Traction Motors Product Line globally, while leading and developing the local Traction Motors organization in Sweden.

Your mission is to lead, grow and optimize the Traction Motors business worldwide, delivering strong financial and operational performance while shaping and executing the Product Line strategy in line with the Business Line mandate and Traction Division strategy.

As Global Product Line Manager, you will lead the global motors organization, spanning R&D, Sales, Operations, Engineering and Product Management, while directly leading the Sweden unit and overseeing local unit managers in China and India. You will drive an efficient, scalable, and customer-oriented operating model and develop a competitive traction motors portfolio, ensuring strong execution across regions.

As Local Division Manager in Sweden, you will ensure strong operational performance, alignment with global priorities and effective utilization of global and divisional resources.

Through strategic leadership, disciplined execution, and close cross functional collaboration, you will ensure we consistently deliver results and act as a role model for ABB’s culture and values in leadership, decision‑making and execution.

While the role has a global scope, the position’s location is Västerås, Sweden.

The work model is hybrid #LI‑hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial performance: Full accountability for annual performance planning (budgeting and forecasting) and delivery of financial results, driving profitable growth and margin improvement.
• Strategy & direction: Define, communicate and execute medium‑ and long-term business strategies for the Railway and eMobility segments, securing profitable growth and a strong global market position.
• People's leadership & development: Build a high performing, caring and inclusive global organization, setting clear expectations and developing talent across regions.
• Business development & sales: Lead global business development to define the right products, services and markets, accelerating top‑line growth and customer value creation.
• Product & technology leadership: Ensure a competitive portfolio of highly energy efficient traction motors, working closely with R&D and Portfolio Management to define future product and technology roadmaps.
• Operations excellence: Define and implement agile global operating models together with divisions in Sweden, India and China; drive quality, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
• Order execution: Establish robust tendering, engineering and execution frameworks, ensuring effective project delivery in collaboration with Marketing & Sales, Engineering, R&D, Operations, SCM and Project Management.
• Collaboration, HSE & integrity: Actively seek cross division synergies while ensuring full compliance with HSE, integrity and business compliance standards across all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering and/or Business Administration.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience in global industrial or technology‑driven businesses (prior exposure to the Traction business ecosystem is an asset).
• Experience in motor manufacturing or manufacturing of magnetic / inductive components.
• Proven success in leading global, cross‑cultural organizations with strong influencing skills.
• Strong technical and/or commercial background, with solid business acumen and value‑proposition understanding.
• Strategic mindset with a clear focus on future growth, innovation, and competitiveness.
• Passion for people, customers, quality, and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, lead, transform and energize a global organization.
