Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the System and Application Test Team in Västerås. This assignment focuses on supporting and strengthening quality assurance activities for newly developed products by testing complete robotic systems, including software, electronics, and robot manipulators operating across various applications.

The consultant will play a key role in system testing, robot programming, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and global solution teams. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of automation systems, software engineering principles, robotics, and testing methodologies within industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive system and application testing activities for robotics and automation products.
• Validate and improve product quality through testing of integrated systems involving software, electronics, and robot manipulators.
• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases, test configurations, and technical test specifications.
• Set up and configure robotic cells and related automation equipment for testing purposes.
• Perform robot programming activities and support troubleshooting within robotic systems.
• Collaborate with Global Solution Centers to define testing requirements, configurations, and validation procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with Product Owners and stakeholders regarding project expectations, demonstrations, videos, and promotional materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, workflows, and engineering practices.
• Ensure proper communication and alignment between cross-functional teams and project stakeholders.
• Support software engineering activities involving analysis, development, implementation, and application of software solutions based on business and customer requirements.
• Contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Required Experience

• 2–6 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field,
• OR
• 10–15 years of relevant industry experience combined with another technical qualification.
• Hands-on experience in software engineering, automation systems, or robotics testing environments.
• Experience working with system and application testing for industrial or robotic systems.
• Practical knowledge of robot systems, automation equipment, and electronics hardware.
• Experience with RAPID programming and C# programming (proficiency level can be discussed).
• Strong understanding of quality assurance, testing methodologies, and process improvement practices.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Electronics, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Alternative technical qualifications combined with extensive industry experience will also be considered.

Languages

• English – Proficient (written and spoken)
• Swedish – Highly preferred
