You will play a central role in the development of Emerson’s next generation of industrial software products and lead a skilled team of software engineers.

As Manager System Software, you will lead a team of 15 software developers working in a Scrum‑based environment. Together, you will design, build, and evolve applications and systems used in mission‑critical 24/7 operations worldwide. The development spans Microsoft and Linux environments, on‑premise and cloud solutions, with a strong focus on reliability, usability, and long‑term maintainability. Typical technologies include C/C++, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Linux, Windows, databases, and cloud services.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities will be

Operational

• Coach, motivate, and empower the team while promoting a safe, inclusive work environment and a healthy work–life balance
• Actively remove impediments to ensure efficient and predictable delivery
• Foster strong collaboration within the team and across disciplines

Tactical

• Contribute to technical reviews covering requirements, architecture, and design
• Own individual performance management, career development, and compensation reviews
• Participate in recruitment of employees and management of external consultants
• Manage team capacity, resource planning, and the approved budget
• Participate in selection of suppliers and establishment of supplier agreements

Strategic

• Contribute to department goals and improvement plans within System Software
• Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and ways of working
• Coordinate and share best practices across Emerson through global forums and peer networks, strengthening alignment and reuse

For This Role, You will need

• Proven background in software development, with experience leading software teams
• 10 years of experience in system software development or similar domains
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, quality‑focused approach
• Excellent communication skills; fluent English, spoken and written
• University degree in software engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Experience working as a Scrum Master or Agile team facilitator
• Experience with modern system software technologies, tools, and cloud platforms
• Background in industrial, embedded, or mission‑critical systems
