You will work with vehicle energy consumption and performance in an advanced automotive setting where simulation and testing are used to guide key engineering decisions. The focus is on balancing energy and fuel efficiency with dynamic vehicle performance across EV, HEV and conventional ICE powertrains.

In this role, you will build and use CAE models at component, system and full-vehicle level, and connect virtual results with physical verification. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across several disciplines to support energy management, control strategy development and early concept evaluations. It is a great opportunity if you want to influence both technical direction and vehicle attribute development through deep analytical work.

• You will simulate multi-mode vehicle performance across EV, HEV and conventional ICE powertrain configurations.
• You will build models and run studies on component, system and complete vehicle level to evaluate range, performance, energy consumption and energy balance.
• You will optimize vehicle efficiency by balancing consumption targets against dynamic performance requirements.
• You will analyze vehicle longitudinal dynamics and support the development of energy management and control strategies based on simulation data.
• You will deliver virtual validation of full-vehicle energy management attributes and support program milestones.
• You will contribute to concept-phase evaluations that influence early vehicle architecture and powertrain selection.
• You will execute or support physical tests to verify complete vehicle performance and validate CAE models.
• You will communicate simulation and test results clearly to engineers and other stakeholders across the organization.

• MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Energy, Automotive or a similar field.
• Minimum 5+ years of automotive CAE experience in full-vehicle simulation, vehicle range and performance, energy consumption, and energy balance.
• Deep understanding of HEV operating modes and EV battery systems.
• Experience of modelling, execution and analysis of 1D CAE analyses using software tools such as GT-Suite and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience of evaluating early-stage vehicle architectures and energy trade-offs.
• Knowledge of vehicle longitudinal dynamics and energy management control strategies.
• Ability to analyze and communicate 1D CAE and physical test results to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of legal and consumer test requirements in Ch/EU/US, for example CLTC, WLTC, GreenNCAP and AMS.
• Working knowledge of Python, Systemweaver, CANoe/CANalyzer and INCA.
• Fluent English.

• Experience from physical testing related to driving range, performance and energy consumption.
• Experience from 3D CFD using Fluent or StarCCM+.
