Arbetsbeskrivning

We are on the journey to transform our digital capabilities, bringing core business processes, people, data & technology together - an enabler for IKEA to become an even better home furnishing retailer in the future. A journey that needs passionate people who embrace change, dare to question and want to make a difference. If that sounds like you, come and join us. Together we can do great things!

Job Description

As an Enterprise Architect within Operations management Process and Capabilities, you shape and maintain the architectural direction for an end‑to‑end process of enterprise significance, spanning Process, People, Data and Technology. You ensure that strategy, target state, roadmaps and major design decisions stay coherent across our process landscape

A central part of your role is to describe, frame and lead the transformation from today’s state toward the target state. You make the change journey explicit by defining transition paths, sequencing, dependencies and decision points, enabling IKEA to move deliberately and coherently over time. Your work helps connect long‑term ambition with practical movement, ensuring change is intentional rather than incremental by accident.

You take a strong leadership role in relation to key stakeholders, including Business Process Leaders, Business process partners, roadmap owners, Capability Area Architects, and senior leaders. Through influence, clarity and trust, you help align perspectives, resolve tensions, and create shared commitment to enterprise‑level direction and priorities.

You hold the total IKEA perspective for Process our process landscape together By guiding enterprise architecture process governance and acting as a senior sparring partner, you help reduce fragmentation, surface dilemmas early and support decision‑making that balances local needs with global outcomes.

You report to the Enterprise Architecture Manager and work in a matrix with Business Process leadership, in close collaboration with Capability Area Architects, product and platform leaders, and other Enterprise Architects across IKEA.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Shape and evolve our target architecture, connecting business needs with technology and data across IKEA.
  • Set architectural direction and frames within our process landscape, through principles, guardrails, target states and design boundaries
  • Shape and steward an architecture roadmap that clearly describes the transformation toward the target state, including transitions, sequencing, dependencies and cross‑horizon implications
  • Lead and hold together EA governance for the end‑to‑end process by preparing, framing and supporting decisions on principles, target states, major initiatives, exceptions and architectural dilemmas
  • Identify, surface and help resolve cross‑process, cross‑capability and cross‑domain dependencies before they turn into fragmentation, delay or rework
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, Capability Area Architects, engineers and product teams, supporting difficult trade‑offs and strengthening shared direction
  • Define and steward architectural principles, patterns and reusable models that enable simplification, reuse and future change across IKEA
  • Ensure architectural direction is translated into practical movement and realised outcomes, using feedback from execution to continuously refine direction over time

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who combines strong architectural expertise with a deep understanding of business and collaboration

What we’d like you to bring

To succeed as an Enterprise Architect, you bring:

  • Extensive experience in an enterprise architecture role or process architecture, data/information architecture or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end process architecture, target‑state design and architectural roadmapping
  • Good knowledge of data domains, data governance and cross‑domain alignment where consistency is critical
  • Experience working in integrated planning, governance and decision forums where architecture shapes priorities and sequencing
  • Ability to clearly explain architecture, frame trade‑offs and consequences, and influence decisions without relying on formal authority
  • Strong facilitation and governance capability, with confidence to lead dialogue and progress in complex and ambiguous situations
  • Deep understanding of IKEA’s business, value‑chain logic, culture and ways of working
  • Architecture training or certification such as TOGAF or similar
  • Experience working closely with product‑oriented teams and platform organisations
  • Experience in large, complex, cross‑functional environments with many stakeholders
