Company Description

As a Business & Integration Partner, you work close to the business to ensure that priorities, processes, and capabilities within Purchasing Development are successfully deployed, used, and sustained in everyday operations across the Category Area.

You act as a Functional Expert (FE) within assigned topics, supporting Category Teams by translating development into practice and securing that new or improved processes, capabilities, and digital solutions are understood, applied, and delivering business value over time.

Your role brings development to life by securing deployment, usage, and sustainability of new and improved ways of working in everyday operations.

In close collaboration with the Business & Integration Manager, the Business Process Owner (BPO) organisation within End to End goods flow, and cross‑functional stakeholders, you contribute to strategic priorities while ensuring alignment with operational reality, governance, and long‑term business practice.

The Business Integration Partner leads adoption and change close to the business, ensuring that development is translated into practice and delivers value where the work is done.

Job Description

What you will do

Business support & execution

  • Support Category Managers and Category Teams in translating Category Business Plans into concrete activities and actions that enable delivery towards IKEA strategies.
  • Execute and deliver business activities within assigned functional expertise, contributing to strategic priorities and topics across Category Areas within Purchasing Development.
  • Highlight operational realities, business needs, and improvement opportunities to support effective prioritisation and decision‑making.

Leading adoption and change close to the business

  • Lead adoption and anchoring of processes, capabilities, and agreed ways of operating across the Category Area, ensuring alignment with standards, frameworks, and the BPO setup.
  • Lead change close to everyday operations by partnering with teams, clarifying expectations, and translating development into practical, workable solutions.
  • Take ownership for deployment within assigned topics, enabling understanding, confidence, and correct usage through dialogue, presence, and hands‑on support.
  • Establish follow‑up routines and reinforcement mechanisms that embed desired practices and secure sustainability and business value beyond go‑live.

Interface & collaboration (CA ↔ BPO)

  • Represent the Business Unit / Category Area towards the BPO organisation within assigned functional expertise, ensuring shared understanding of business reality, priorities, and expected outcomes.
  • Highlight and articulate business needs to support BPO prioritisation, representing the business in process, capability, and digital development initiatives.
  • Contribute business input to testing, validation, and structured feedback throughout development and deployment activities.

Adoption, readiness & continuous improvement

  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of processes and digital solutions within the Category Area, identify gaps, and initiate dialogue to support corrective actions and long‑term sustainability.
  • Enable organisational rollout and business readiness for new capabilities, including:
  • change impact understanding and stakeholder engagement
  • testing, validation, and structured feedback loops
  • proactive identification of competence needs and actions to close gaps
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in line with the BPO framework to secure sustainable compliance, governance, and long‑term business practice.

Representation & cross‑functional collaboration

  • Engage in common initiatives across Purchasing Development and Business Development to support total movement across Inter IKEA Group.
  • Represent Purchasing Development / Category Area in projects, networks, and cross‑functional or cross‑organisational collaborations, supporting alignment, progress, and anchoring in everyday operations.

  • Good understanding of the IKEA Operating Model and how it enables end‑to‑end ways of working across the IKEA value chain.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and how priorities translate into execution.
  • Experience working with process development, deployment, and governance in a complex environment.
  • Practical experience in change management, deployment, and driving adoption across diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding within assigned functional expertise area.

Capability

  • Ability to translate business needs into operational, process, and technical requirements — and explain solutions back to the business.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to influence through collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify gaps, clarify root causes, and support sustainable solutions.
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration across functions and organisational boundaries.
  • Ability to enable and support others through clarity, presence, and partnership.
