Do you want to go to work and help create a better life at home? With us, you can feel at home at work while sharing that feeling with millions of people around the world. We encourage you to stand up for yourself and others, creating an environment where everyone feels welcome. We invite you to open new doors, embrace mistakes, and grow from them. As our Communication Partner, you’ll have many opportunities to try things you’ve never done before.
About the role
Communication is a big part of how IKEA moves forward together. It is how people understand what is going on, what it means for them and how they can be part of it. We are looking for three Communication Partners who can help leaders and teams across IKEA turn complexity into clarity, build understanding and move things forward, in the IKEA tone of voice.
All three are strategic thinkers and hands-on doers. People who can both advise on the communication approach and roll up their sleeves to create the communication itself. You will be at the heart of helping the business strengthen processes and ways of working in areas where clarity, trust and understanding really matter, working closely with leaders and co-workers across the organisation.
The three roles share a common base, but they have their own focus:
Two Communication Partners with a focus on visual communication. Roles for people who turn strategies, priorities and change stories into visuals, and enrich them with words that people understand, remember and act upon. You are as comfortable designing the visual that brings something to life as shaping the message itself, and you know the two must work together to land well.
One Communication Partner with a focus on change and transformation. A role for someone who is energised by complex topics and enjoys supporting leaders and teams through change. You will help build confidence, create shared understanding and help the organisation move from awareness to action in complex and sometimes sensitive contexts.
If one of these sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you.
Across all three roles, you will:
In the visual communication roles, you will also shape the messaging and the visuals together, design and produce the visuals that carry our most important messages and safeguard the IKEA visual identity alongside the tone of voice.
In the change and transformation role, you will also help teams move through uncertainty by shaping structured, trustworthy communication they can lean on, and act as the go-to communication partner for change and transformation.
About you
You care about getting communication right, especially when the topic is complex, and you enjoy turning that complexity into something clear, simple and engaging yourself. You are curious, energised when there is real substance to work with, and you enjoy working close to leaders and teams, building trust as much as building plans. You take initiative, move things forward and feel at home in IKEA's culture and values.
For the communication roles with a focus on visual communication, we also look for strong graphic design skills combined with strong writing and messaging skills, the ability to choose the right tool for the job, and the hands-on ability to design and produce the visuals that carry our most important messages, from infographics and campaign materials to presentations and frameworks. Plus, confidence in shaping and delivering presentations that have impact.
For the change and transformation role, we also look for confidence in shaping communication that supports decision-making, understanding and action in complex and sometimes sensitive contexts connected to change.
