R&D Manager – Hardware & Mechatronics

You will lead the Hardware & Mechatronics function within BEP Handheld R&D, with responsibility for developing competitive, robust and compliant product solutions across the full product lifecycle. The role combines people leadership, technical direction, and strong execution in line with Husqvarna Group strategies and ways of working.

About the Role

As R&D Manager, you will lead, coach and develop a team of hardware and mechatronics engineers, building strong capabilities, engagement and performance. You will secure end-to-end development—from early concepts to industrialization and lifecycle management—ensuring that solutions meet targets for performance, quality, cost and sustainability.

You will drive the technical roadmap within hardware and mechatronics, aligned with product and technology strategies, while ensuring effective and structured delivery in projects including planning, resource allocation, risk management and follow-up.

The role requires close collaboration across functions such as Systems Engineering, Product Management, Software, Sourcing and Operations. You will also manage technical interfaces with suppliers and partners and contribute to innovation areas such as electrification, control systems and smart features.

Your Profile

You bring leadership experience and an ability to engage and develop people, a leadership that builds trust and engagement. You have a strong business mindset and the ability to translate strategy into execution. You work in a structured and fact-based way, communicate clearly, and create alignment across stakeholders. You are motivated by continuous improvement and take ownership of results.

Qualifications:

• Relevant leadership experience in developing people, strengthening team spirit, and fostering a collaborative and stable team environment.
• Proven experience within hardware/mechatronics development.
• Solid understanding of product development processes and industrialization.
• Experience from cross-functional and international environments.
• MSc/BSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
