Assignment Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer / Battery Specialist

What You Will Work On

• Develop and validate SOH and RUL models for used BEVs
• Analyze battery degradation using operational vehicle data
• Compare on-board battery estimates with off-board model results
• Investigate and explain deviations in battery health calculations
• Assess aging drivers such as:
• Temperature
• State of Charge (SOC)
• Depth of discharge
• Charging behavior
• C-rate and load profiles
• Route and usage patterns
• Define confidence levels and applicability criteria for battery lifetime estimates
• Translate technical battery insights into business recommendations for:
• Used vehicle sales
• Leasing strategies
• Warranty risk
• Residual value assessments
• Second-life planning

What You Bring

• Relevant technical education in:
• Battery Technology
• Electrochemistry
• Electrical Engineering
• Materials Science
• or similar field
• Strong expertise in Li-ion battery technology and degradation mechanisms
• Experience with battery lifetime assessment including:
• Calendar aging
• Cycle aging
• Real-world usage effects
• Strong understanding of:
• State of Health (SOH)
• Remaining Useful Life (RUL)
• Capacity fade
• Resistance increase
• Performance degradation
• Experience interpreting battery data from vehicles, BMS systems, diagnostics, or testing
• Ability to critically assess model outputs and evaluate technical/business relevance
• Experience collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to explain complex degradation concepts clearly and pragmatically
