Assignment Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer

What You Will Work On

• Lead the end-to-end redesign and productization of ITFM data logic
• Reverse engineer and extract business rules from existing dbt models
• Validate and refine logic together with business stakeholders
• Define and implement a structured information model (sources → concepts → dimensions/facts → reporting layer)
• Design and build star schema data models (fact tables, conformed dimensions, SCD where required)
• Refactor dbt projects into structured layers (staging, intermediate, marts) with improved standards
• Optimize BigQuery performance and cost (partitioning, clustering, incremental processing)
• Support ongoing development of new datasets, metrics, and integrations
• Ensure high code quality through testing, CI practices, code reviews, and release management
• Produce clear and structured documentation (dbt docs, lineage, data contracts, runbooks)
• Leverage AI tools to support documentation, testing, and migration activities

What You Bring

• Strong expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling (star schema, fact/dimension modeling)
• Extensive hands-on experience with dbt (macros, testing, incremental models, documentation)
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery (performance tuning and cost optimization)
• Domain knowledge in FinOps or ITFM (e.g., cost allocation, chargeback models)
• Ability to work in environments with limited documentation and drive requirement clarification
• Strong experience in technical documentation and data governance
• Proven ability to lead refactoring and modernization initiatives
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
• Familiarity with applying AI tools in development workflows
