Job description

At ISLK we follow the PYP curriculum with an inclusive approach to learning diversity and needs. Your role will be to complement the class teachers through working with students (approx. age 6-11 yrs) in need of additional support in developing literacy (reading, writing) and maths (number sense) skills. The work will be carried out through short term intervention with individuals and groups of students both in and outside the normal classroom setting. Your work will entail assessing students prior knowledge and skills, set individual student goals and develop a plan for intervention as well as evaluating and documenting progress. You will work in collaboration with and be part of the PYP teachers team and work in close collaboration with and under the direction of the PYP Student Support coordinator.

Qualification

• Primary teaching certification and preferably a minimum of two years' teaching experience
• Qualifications and experience as a specialist teacher for students with learning support needs
• Native English speaker or high proficiency in English

Experience

• Knowledge and skills of early reading and writing development as well as basic maths skills
• Excellent collaborative, organisational and communication skills and an understanding of inclusion and inclusive practices.
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural and multilingual setting
• Knowledge and experience of the IB and the Primary Years Programme

About Us

ISLK - International School of Lund is an IB World School authorized to teach the IB Early Years Programme, Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. The school works in close collaboration with Katedralskolan where the IB Diploma Programme is offered. ISLK is a growing school and has approximately 430 students at the moment.
