Join us for an exciting doctoral journey at the Department of Electrical Engineering to shape the future of neuroprosthetics by combining human neural interfaces with cutting-edge neuromorphic engineering for brain–computer interfaces.
About us
The group led by Giacomo Valle is part of the Division of Biomedical signals and systems at the https://www.chalmers.se/en/departments/e2/ at Chalmers University of Technology. We are an interdisciplinary and international team working at the interface of neuroscience, engineering, and clinical translation. Our research focuses on neural interfaces, sensory restoration, and bio-inspired computation, in close collaboration with clinical and industrial partners.
About the research project
This project focuses on developing next-generation neuroprosthetic systems combining invasive neural recording and stimulation in humans with neuromorphic processing for brain–computer interfaces. The work involves designing closed-loop systems to restore sensory and motor function, integrating real-time neural decoding with low-power, bio-inspired hardware, and validating approaches in clinical settings.
