Arbetsbeskrivning

Would you like to accelerate Digital Transformation in Volvo Construction Equipment Operations?

We offer a challenging role in a world-leading, multicultural manufacturing environment. Join us in building tomorrow’s Manufacturing Engineering solutions and make a difference for your development, your colleagues, the company, and society.

Data drives efficiency, innovation, and digital transformation in the industry. We seek a curious and motivated individual to lead and support the implementation of connected manufacturing capabilities across target image groups, enabling real-time visibility and end-to-end traceability while delivering secure, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives and the strategic framework.

This role is an important player on the digitalization and automation target image defined for VCE’s industrial system, strengthening competitiveness, accelerating time to market, and securing regional value chains through scalable digital and automation capabilities.

About us

In Operations, we manufacture and deliver the Volvo Construction Equipment ecosystem around the world, operating from our 12 sites across 4 continents. We work together across functions to always put the customer at the center of our decisions and achieve best-in-class performance while evolving with the world around us. We are engaged, skilled, and continuously improving, and we expect the same from you.

This is us, your new colleagues

We are a passionate team responsible for Manufacturing Engineering within Volvo CE, driven by continuous improvement, focusing on performance, and involving people. If you want to challenge the status quo and apply your knowledge globally, this is a great opportunity for you. Join our global team, add value to the Volvo CE manufacturing environment, and contribute to the digital transformation.

This is how you could make an impact

In this role, you will lead and ensure that multi-site roadmaps, networks, and portfolios are built and governed in line with the Volvo CE Digitalization and Automation strategy, translating strategic direction into actionable plans that create measurable business value. You will also support operations sites in scaling the implementation of approved platforms, solutions, and standards, enabling repeatable deployment approaches and accelerating adoption across the manufacturing footprint.

A central focus will be to identify, define, and prioritize digital capabilities that align with objectives and business needs, while ensuring feasibility, validation, and clear outcome ownership. You will support end-to-end solutions spanning devices, connectivity, data ingestion and storage, edge computing, cloud platforms, applications, and analytics, ensuring the solutions are robust, maintainable, and fit for industrial environments.

To build long-term capability, you will develop, maintain, and govern technical standards, documentation, and training materials that strengthen skills and competencies across teams and sites. You will provide technical support to manufacturing and operational sites to enable stable equipment connectivity and integration, and you will help secure reliable operations through strong lifecycle practices.

You will define, implement, and enforce IoT and connectivity security principles in alignment with corporate IT and OT security policies, and collaborate closely with IT, OT, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, adoption, and sustainable value realization. As part of your delivery leadership, you will proactively identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, communicate transparently, and escalate when needed to keep progress on track.

Finally, you will continuously scan global trends and best practices to evolve long-term plans and roadmaps, and you will engage in external collaborations such as universities, research initiatives, and pilot projects, bringing relevant insights back into Volvo CE through practical, implemented solutions.

Who are you?

Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in industrial digitalization, IoT, OT/IT integration, or closely related domains.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, ideally within automotive or other discrete manufacturing.
  • Experience with cloud and data platforms, including analytics and visualization tools.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, global, and or multi-site environments.
  • Exposure to research methods and collaboration within academic environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
