Overview
The client is seeking a skilled Calibration Engineer to join their Thermal Management and Hydraulics team, focusing on xEV (electrified vehicle) powertrains.
This role involves optimizing thermal performance and ensuring efficient energy management across various vehicle systems to meet performance and comfort targets.
The position offers exposure to advanced automotive technologies and requires a balance of hands-on testing, system calibration, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Calibration & Verification Activities
- Perform calibration and validation tasks across multiple environments, including desktop simulations, engine test rigs, and in-vehicle testing
- Ensure that system performance aligns with defined powertrain and vehicle attribute targets
Thermal Management & Energy Coordination
- Manage thermal energy distribution across key components such as combustion engines, electric machines, transmissions, power electronics, batteries, and cabin systems
- Optimize heating and cooling strategies to enhance system efficiency and passenger comfort
System Development & Enhancement
- Contribute to the development and refinement of control functions, including in-house application software
- Support specific technical areas such as oil pressure regulation and related system behaviors
Testing & Field Operations
- Conduct testing activities in both controlled environments (test cells) and real-world vehicle conditions
- Participate in testing activities across different locations and varying climate conditions as required
Future Product Support
- Assist in system design and development activities for upcoming products across multiple customer applications
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable and adaptable solutions
Required Experience
- Proven experience working with thermal management systems in combustion and/or electric powertrains
- Hands-on experience in calibration and function development using Simulink
- Familiarity with xEV powertrain systems and vehicle-level integration
Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
