We are now looking for a Base Engine Component owner / Design Responsible to join our Base Engine and Auxiliaries team within Powertrain Technology, working closely within the network of in-house Volvo engines.

What you will do

As our Component Owner / Design Responsible within our Base Engine and Auxiliaries team, you will be responsible for working with technologies connected to internal combustion engine development. You will be responsible for engines to secure quality, delivery and cost from our internal and external suppliers. Your main activities in this position will include:

  • Engineering documentation like 3D-models, drawings, and engineering reports.
  • System architecture and coordination of engine development activities.
  • Verification requirements to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Performance and durability requirements.
  • Road map for future alternatives.

You will work cross functionally in a network of people where you contribute with your competence, ideas and visions. You will be involved in projects from the initial stages to the maintenance phase after product launch.


Who are you?

We are looking for you who are excited about making sure that we deliver best possible internal combustion engines to the concerned VCE products. Together with the team you are passionate to secure the flow with high quality from suppliers to factories, aftermarket and end customers.

We believe you have strong analytical skills, are very well organized and enjoy being on top of things. You are a team player who collaborates effectively and have good communication skills. A passion for technical challenges is much appreciated in this position!

Technical project management is a merit.

The Base Engine and Auxiliaries team is a global team located in Eskilstuna, Konz, and Belley. We are responsible for the development of internal combustion engines and engine auxiliaries for our construction equipment machinery. Our work encompasses the complete development cycle, from design and implementation to testing in machines. In addition to meeting tougher emission requirements, our journey towards a more sustainable future also focuses on alternative and non-fossil fuels.
