You will take the technical lead for Self Service & Automation in a larger HPC program, where scalable services, clear architecture and reliable delivery are critical. In this role, you own the area end to end: from capturing requirements and shaping solution design to supporting implementation, testing and handover. You will act as the senior architectural point of contact for technical decisions, integrations and design quality across the workstream.

You will work closely with engineers, program leadership and customer-facing forums, with responsibility for everything from self-service use cases and automation flows to observability, ingestion/logistics and technical governance. • You will own the workstream end to end, gathering and validating requirements, translating them into HLDs and LLDs, and driving implementation through acceptance.
• You will define and scope self-service and automation use cases, manage the backlog, and ensure requirements are fully covered.
• You will produce and maintain key artefacts such as High Level Designs, Low Level Designs, test scripts, runbooks, as-built documentation and training materials.
• You will review and assure the quality of designs, test scripts and technical deliverables produced by the team.
• You will support implementation forums and standups, coach engineers, and act as the go-to expert for technical decisions and troubleshooting.
• You will lead the design of monitoring and observability within the workstream, including Grafana, metrics selection and integration with the monitoring stack.
• You will support cost visibility needs through FinOps-oriented dashboard design.
• You will prepare and deliver technical presentations, demos and workshops, and help manage customer tickets and feedback.
• You will coordinate with other technical leads to define integration points, APIs and dependencies across related workstreams.
• You will contribute to migration planning, ingestion flow definitions and logistics-related design work.

• ~8+ years’ experience as a senior solution architect, or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of automation and self service platforms, including IaC with Terraform and Ansible, and orchestration with OpenShift, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar tools.
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus and related metric/log pipelines.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash and APIs.
• Familiarity with FinOps concepts and dashboarding for cost visibility.
• Experience in design reviews, architectural governance and cross-team integration.
• Ability to produce and quality assure HLDs, LLDs and test plans.
• Ability to mentor or lead a technical team and communicate clearly in presentations and workshops.
