About the AssignmentElectrical architecture is at the heart of the transition from hybrid systems to fully electric drivetrains.
In this role, you will help shape how electrical and electronic systems are designed, integrated, and scaled across a product portfolio that includes advanced powertrain solutions such as Electrical Drive Units and inverters.
You will work in a technically strong environment where software, hardware, system safety, cyber security, and EMC come together to create robust products for sustainable mobility.
The assignment gives you the chance to influence critical architecture decisions in a complex automotive setting where safety, performance, and production readiness are equally important.
Job Description- You will lead the design and development of system architecture for electrical and electronic systems across hybrid and electric powertrain solutions.
- You will define system-level requirements for the product portfolio and translate customer needs into architecture decisions for new products.
- You will drive integration and scalability across subsystems and ECUs to ensure reliable interaction throughout the electrical system.
- You will work closely with Software Component Owners, Hardware Developers, and specialists in System Safety, Cyber Security, and EMC to align component design with system-level requirements.
- You will ensure the architecture supports relevant automotive safety, performance, and cyber security standards.
- You will tackle technical challenges related to communication networks, EMC impact, load balancing, signal interaction, and topology optimization.
- You will support the industrialization of electrical systems from early concept work through production readiness.
- You will act as a key technical expert in dialogue with suppliers and internal stakeholders on electrical architecture matters.
Requirements- Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in defining and developing electrical system architecture within the automotive industry.
- Extensive knowledge of ECU design, communication protocols, AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and cyber security regulations.
- Deep technical understanding of EMC challenges, load balancing, and signal interactions within vehicles.
- Ability to collaborate across hardware and software disciplines and drive integration together with component owners and system specialists.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, structured way of handling complex requirements.
Nice to have- Experience from Volvo Cars, AB Volvo, or Geely Group companies.
