About the assignment We are looking for a freelance Software Architect working within automotive embedded systems. In this assignment, you will play a key role in defining and shaping software architecture for complex systems, ensuring scalability, safety, and long-term maintainability.

The assignment involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders to develop robust architectural solutions aligned with industry standards and system requirements. The client operates in a technically advanced environment where innovation, compliance, and performance are central.

Your future responsibilities In this role, the consultant will take ownership of the software architecture and act as a technical authority across the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and design software architecture aligned with system requirements and project goals

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration

• Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including interface definitions and design patterns

• Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of software systems

• Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams

• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies

• Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE

• Support system integration and validation activities

• Evaluate tools, frameworks, and third-party components

• Contribute to strategic technology decisions

• Mentor engineers and promote best practices within software architecture

We are looking for Requirements:

• Extensive experience in software architecture within embedded systems, preferably automotive

• Strong knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and frameworks

• Experience working with safety-critical systems and relevant standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE

• Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration and system integration

Meritorious:

• Experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams

• Familiarity with modern automotive software platforms and toolchains
