Westermo is currently recruiting a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Västerås where you will have the opportunity to work with advanced data communication and industrial network technology as well as customer service in a great combination!

Are you our new Technical Support Engineer?

As Technical Support Engineer your main task will be to provide 2nd line product- and application support to customers and colleagues around the world. You will work in a small, close-knit team and report to the Support Manager. You will provide support primarily for routers and switches, but also extenders, converters and modems among other products. To solve the issues, you will trouble shoot, reproduce problems in your own lab environment. In your interaction with customers, you will mainly use case management system and email, but also phone and in some cases face-to-face meetings in order to support or train the customers. In this team, it's important that you and your colleagues contribute to implementing improvements internally and work towards goals and key targets.

Adjacent to this team, there are two colleagues working with Training for internal and external customers under the term Westermo Academy. If this interests you, there is a good chance to develop in this area as well.

You will be working with several data communication technologies, such as Ethernet, xDSL, Serial, Cellular and WLAN. In our facilities we have the possibility to set up network configurations and replicate applications to support our customers in the best possible way.

The role may also include occasional visits to customers to support with technical requirements. For example, perform services such as health checks and performance measurements of networks. You and your colleagues are in many ways the face of Westermo towards our customers, and you take that seriously!

So, who are we looking for?

We are looking for a trouble-shooting, problem-solving, service oriented and communicative person who enjoys interacting with a wide range of customers and colleagues. You are a team player and you can cooperate both internally and externally. You like investigating, analyzing and testing different solutions and you are structured and organized and able to drive your own progress. We are open to someone recently graduated, but a few years of support experience is meritorious.

Requirements

• A skilled communicator in written and speech

• Ability to take ownership and drive your own tasks

• An academic degree in data communication/industrial networks or equivalent hands on experience

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Meritorious

• Cisco certifications CCNA/CCNP

• A driver’s license (B)

• Network System experience from Industries such as Train, Process Industry, Energy etc.
