About the role:

Cleura is building a new Cloud Services R&D function, delivering OpenStack-based infrastructure and platform services. Our focus is on IaaS, PaaS, and enabling upstream OpenStack contributions.

Our mission is to operate and evolve a robust, scalable OpenStack platform, while developing new cloud services and contributing to upstream projects.

As an OpenStack Engineer,you will work across multiple OpenStack projects to design, implement, and maintain platform functionality. You will collaborate with squads, product management, and Platform Operations to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable services, while also supporting upstream contributions.

This role can be performed fully remotely or from one of our office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain features in OpenStack core projects (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Trove, Ironic, Freezer, Keystone, Magnum, Heat, Octavia).
• Support architecture and platform decisions, ensuring alignment with Cleura Cloud strategy.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with squads and Platform Ops to ensure stable, production-ready OpenStack services.
• Contribute to upstream OpenStack projects, submitting patches, fixes, and documentation.
• Support migration, upgrades, and integration work between OpenStack and other platform components.
• Document solutions, processes, and architecture decisions for team and organizational use.

Required Skills & Experience

• Solid experience withOpenStack deployment, operation and development (3+ years).

• Solid understanding ofLinux systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and automation (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

• Experience with Python.
• Willingness to contribute upstream and collaborate with the OpenStack community

Desirable Skills

• Experience with OVN ML2 driver, OpenStack Ironic, OpenStack Masakari, OpenStack Trove or Ceph.

• Prior participation in open-source projects or upstream contributions.
• Knowledge of cloud observability, telemetry, or security integration.
