Do you enjoy creating safe, well-run operations and improving how work gets done, together? At Volvo Buses, you will lead a skilled team in Uddevalla and help build a culture where people feel supported, performance grows, and continuous improvement is part of everyday work.
What you will do
At Volvo Buses in Uddevalla, we bring together proud welding craftsmanship from the shipbuilding era with the precision and care shaped by decades of local car manufacturing. With a supportive, committed team, we produce high-quality frames and structures that help create world-class buses.
Our plant has around 130 engaged colleagues and is the first step in the chassis supply chain. We weld bus frames, cross members, and other welded components, mainly for Volvo Buses and also for other parts of the Volvo Group. Each year, we manufacture approximately 2,000 to 3,000 bus frames.
As Production Manager, you will lead day-to-day operations in the Uddevalla welding plant, delivering strong results across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while keeping people and wellbeing at the center. You will set clear goals, create healthy structure and rhythm, and nurture a culture where collaboration, learning, and performance grow together. You will strengthen Lean ways of working, including daily management, standard work, and continuous improvement, to stabilize flow, reduce waste, and improve productivity and ergonomics. Together with support functions, you will build capability and secure reliable, sustainable outcomes across our welding processes.
Your future team
You will lead an operations organization of four production leaders who are close to the work, curious about improvement, and dedicated to creating a safe environment every day while delivering for our customers. In this role you will also be a key member of the Uddevalla operations management team.

* A strong track record of delivering on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
* Demonstrated Lean experience (for example Kaizen, daily management, standard work, problem solving)
* Experience leading leaders and building engaged, high-performing teams
* Clear communication skills in Swedish and English, across all levels
Nice to have
* Knowledge of welding standards, process control, and industrialization
* Experience leading change initiatives and production ramp-ups
* Familiarity with data-driven performance management and KPI systems
What’s in it for you?
We offer a solid package of compensation and benefits, plus you will enjoy:
* A key leadership role where safety, wellbeing, and people development come first
* A collaborative culture with strong partnerships across production and support functions
* Opportunities to grow within Volvo Group and build a long-term career
* A practical operations environment where improvements are welcomed and can be implemented quickly
