About the AssignmentYou will play a key role in supporting the safe and compliant design and operation of facilities in a large-scale industrial project.
Working within a central engineering environment, you will help ensure that safety is built into the design from the start and applied consistently across the project.
You will collaborate closely with engineering consultants, contractors, equipment vendors, regulatory bodies, and third-party specialists.
In this role, you will contribute to reducing risks for employees, contractors, and the surrounding community while supporting the delivery of assets that meet regulatory and industry requirements.
Job Description- Support the safe design of project facilities by reviewing and validating safety aspects together with engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Contribute to the development, interpretation, and implementation of safety standards based on regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Work with regulatory bodies and external specialists to identify relevant requirements and assess how they affect the project.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and authorities to align on safety requirements and resolve compliance-related questions.
- Participate in monitoring, reviews, inspections, and audits to support compliance with technical process safety and industrial safety requirements.
- Help build a safe and legally compliant asset with a strong focus on protecting workers and the surrounding community.
Requirements- Engineering degree, MSc, in a relevant discipline, preferably with a Chemical Engineering background.
- At least ten years’ experience in large-scale industrial projects (50 MUSD+) and/or site experience in environments such as steel mill, mining, paper mill, utilities generation, LNG, Hydrogen, Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, or refinery.
- A minimum of five years in a technical process safety-related role.
- Experience in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, Risk Assessments, Functional Safety, BAT, Occupational Safety, Hazards, Fire Safety, ATEX, Hazardous Area Classification, and Effects Management.
- Knowledge of relevant Swedish / European / EU / international standards, laws, and regulations related to technical process safety and industrial safety.
- Knowledge of relevant permitting systems and consent-to-operate processes for major industrial plants.
- Swedish is mandatory.
Nice to have- Experience from steel plants.
- Experience with hydrogen systems, LNG, or the metal industry in major projects.
- Additional experience in Noise Study, Consequence Analysis, Action Error Analysis, Interface Assessment, or Machine Safety.
