Role Overview

The OBC Verification & Validation Engineer is responsible for the complete testing, verification, and validation of a new 7kW (US/JPN) / 11kW (Global) On‑Board Charger for the SPA1 XLR PHEV (526B) program. The role covers component-level verification, customer function validation, charging compatibility tests, and participation in expedition and climate testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform verification of OBC component and system requirements.
• Conduct HIL and in‑vehicle functional testing.
• Execute charging compatibility tests with various wallboxes.
• Carry out robustness and IEC 61000 compliance testing.
• Validate customer functions: UX, mobile app charging, CSD charging settings.
• Support expedition testing (heat, cold, Norway IT‑Grid).
• Deliver acceptance tests for new software releases and requirement verification reports.

• CANalyzer
• DSA
• HIL rigs & test vehicles

Required Competencies

Essential

• Swedish Driving License – Category B (Mandatory)
• Required due to extensive vehicle testing under varying conditions.

Technical

• Strong knowledge of EV charging systems or power electronics.
• Experience with HIL environments and vehicle testing.
• Understanding of EMC/EMI standards (IEC 61000 beneficial).
• Ability to analyze logs, signals, and diagnostic data.

Behavioral

• Strong problem‑solving mindset and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Comfortable working in varied test environments (heat, cold, expeditions).
