About the Role:
Are you a seasoned Go developer with a passion for building the systems that power modern gaming experiences? We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-impact team at one of Stockholm’s most exciting gaming clients.
In this role, you will join a specialized team responsible for the business logic surrounding player-specific progression and metagame functionality. Your work ensures that millions of players can track their quests, progress through seasonal content, and manage their digital inventories seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and scale backend services in Golang for progression-related features (Battle Pass, Quests, Leaderboards).
Manage high-traffic systems handling player inventories and in-game transactions.
Collaborate with game designers to translate gameplay mechanics into robust backend logic.
Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure using a modern DevOps stack.
To thrive in this environment, we believe you have a strong foundation in distributed systems and a "quality-first" mindset.
5+ years of experience building scalable backend systems, with a deep mastery of Golang.
Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure: Specifically GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Experience with high-performance databases (exposure to Google Spanner is a major plus).
Bonus Points:
A background in the gaming industry.
Experience or curiosity regarding C++ and Unreal Engine (or other game engines).

Duration: 6 months (Initial contract with high likelihood of extension).
