A Software Engineer at Precis plays a pivotal role in the development of technology and data-driven applications. They are passionate about leveraging modern software development practices to deliver high-quality solutions. In addition they’ve demonstrated a competency in at least 1 core skill area in software development(e.g. Frontend, Backend, DevOps, Data Engineering, QA, etc).

While primarily filled through internal promotions, external candidates with demonstrated competency may be considered.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
• Specialize in one or more core areas such as frontend, backend, DevOps, data engineering, or QA, and contribute expertise to project teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Actively participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and technical capabilities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Advanced proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java) and other frameworks.
• Demonstrated competency in one or more core areas of technology development, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement, with a passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
