Assignment Overview
We are looking for a COBOL Developer
What you will work on
- Developing and maintaining applications in a mainframe environment
- Participating in new development, system maintenance, and feature enhancements
- Designing and implementing technical solutions based on business requirements
- Performing bug fixing, troubleshooting, and production support
- Analyzing system behavior and resolving technical issues
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation
- Ensuring software quality through structured testing practices
- Participating in solution design and architecture discussions
- Contributing to automation, efficiency improvements, and modernization initiatives
- Collaborating with team members in an agile development environment
- Supporting continuous improvement of development tools and processes
What you bring
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a COBOL developer
- Strong experience working in mainframe environments
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
- Structured and quality-focused development approach
- Experience with test-driven or structured testing practices
- Interest in automation, simplification, and system optimization
- Ability to understand systems deeply and analyze complex solutions
- Experience participating in solution design and technical discussions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Comfortable working in agile teams with frequent deliveries and feedback loops
- Interest in working with modern development tools for mainframe environments
- Fluent communication in Swedish or another Scandinavian language and English
