About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of F.C.S. Group, a UK-based security systems specialist, for a Commissioning Engineer to be based in Gävle. In this role you will take the lead on site, overseeing the installation and commissioning of security systems as part of an ongoing project in the region. You will be the go-to person on the ground, coordinating teams, ensuring quality, and keeping the project moving.

Primary responsibilities

1. Security System Installation

• Carry out second fix installation of security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and associated equipment
• Ensure installations are completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer specifications and client requirements
• Commission systems where required and carry out fault-finding and rectification

2. Site Leadership & Coordination

• Act as the lead operative on site, responsible for day-to-day coordination of works
• Monitor and support other FCS teams on site (e.g. cable team, installation team)
• Oversee quality of workmanship and adherence to health and safety protocols across all FCS trades

3. Progress Tracking & Reporting

• Complete daily site reports, including progress updates, labour on site, completed works, and any issues or delays
• Communicate clearly with the office and project management team to ensure accurate records and early escalation of any problems

4. Job Management Support

• Ensure materials and tools required for upcoming works are identified in advance and ordered in a timely manner
• Assist with ensuring works remain on programme and within scope

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, client specifications, and internal quality expectations
• Carry out system testing and assist with handover documentation where applicable

6. General Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and professional working environment on site
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Represent the company professionally at all times when on client sites
• Wear and maintain the correct PPE for each task and environment
• Respect the rules of client sites and shared accommodation, where applicable
• Uphold F.C.S. Group's standards of professional conduct, punctuality, and communication
• Any other reasonable tasks as directed by a manager, supervisor, or mentor

Who we are looking for

• Documented experience in security systems installation and commissioning (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms)
• Ability to lead a team on site and coordinate multiple workstreams
• Strong reporting and communication skills
• Willingness to follow site-specific health and safety protocols and rules
