Transport and Repatriation Manager in Viking Travel Care has the overall day-to-day responsibility for managing the transport and repatriation team and the delivery of travel assistance transport and repatriation services according to agreements and contracts.
The role reports to Director of Travel Care.
Responsibilities
- Management, guidance, support and coaching of Viking Travel Care’s transport team
- Overseeing all medical transport and repatriation operations, ensuring safe, medically appropriate, and efficient execution
- Ensuring adherence to agreed processes, procedures, and quality standards, particularly related to transport assignments
- Ensuring compliance with aviation medical requirements, IATA guidelines, and internal medical protocols
- Training and support for case handlers and operational teams regarding complex and high‑risk transport cases
- Coordinating with medical team, partners and stakeholders to ensure correct processes and recourses, Fit‑to‑Fly evaluations, and transport decisions
- Maintaining oversight of documentation, case quality, and operational accuracy
- Planning for the right resources, recruit, on- and offboard staff
- Participating and contributing to projects and processes aiming at development of Travel Care services
Qualifications
- Leadership experience from a comparable environment with skills for building and developing teams and individuals.
- Several years’ experience with medical transport and repatriation for travel insurance customers, including co-transports and complex medical transports
- Relevant higher education, preferably from one of the industries like insurance, customer relations, international topics, travel sector, health sector, law.
- Clear communicator and a good people manager
- Fluent in English and either a Nordic language or Spanish (additional languages are a plus).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Fluency in either a Nordic language or Spanish
