What’s it all about?

Reporting to the VP of B2B and Product Marketing- Europe, the Payments and Innovation Director is a pivotal strategic role, essential for driving one of the primary engines of growth over the next five years. To capitalize on these opportunities, it is crucial to further develop our Go to Market support for our products and innovations across Europe.

In this role, you will establish yourself as a value-added member of the Products, Sales and GTM teams in Europe, driving our sales targets by delivering customer-centric initiatives and go-to-market plans that distinguish Visa with Clients and Partners across the region. With a deep empathy for our customers, you will collaborate with solution leaders to develop highly effective marketing initiatives that generate Demand for our solutions.

You will work closely with global and regional leaders, as well as our regional marketing teams, to create and implement innovative programs and content that drive demand and adoption of our core products and solutions across our client ecosystem. As a strategic thinker obsessed with our customers, you will focus on generating demand for our solutions, tracking performance, and utilizing data to validate what works and what doesn't.

Role and Responsibilities of the B2B Marketing Director- Innovation and Consumer Payments

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Lead the creation, refinement, and implementation of comprehensive B2B marketing strategies to bring our core products and innovation to market. These strategies should distinguish our commercial offerings, drive measurable outcomes across all customer segments, and solidify Visa’s position as an industry leader.
  • Playbook and Framework Development: Oversee the development of B2B marketing playbooks, audience engagement strategies, campaign creative frameworks, and media strategies. And partner in the development of B2B2C and B2C marketing playbooks based on our value proposition and product’s functional understanding.


2. Customer and Market Insight

  • Customer Analysis and Segmentation: Oversee detailed customer analysis, market segmentation, and targeting efforts to develop in-depth buyer journeys and personas.
  • Competitive Landscape Expertise: Maintain authority on our competitive landscape and key customers, leveraging these insights to formulate effective B2B marketing strategies that engage key audiences and drive actionable results.
  • Insight Application: Utilize market and customer insights to enhance marketing tactics, ensuring they are tailored to the needs and behaviours of our target segments.


3. Content and Campaign Management

  • Content Creation and Rollout: Direct the creation and global rollout of digital content, website development, and nurture programs designed to boost conversion rates.
  • Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets for specific customer segments, strategically allocating resources to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives related to AANR and revenue generation from Products and Innovation.
  • Campaign Optimization: Continuously refine and optimize marketing campaigns to ensure they are effective and aligned with overarching business goals.


4. Performance Analysis and Reporting

  • Data and Analytics Oversight: Lead data and analytics initiatives to link all marketing activities with tangible ROI metrics (sales and revenue).
  • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Oversee the measurement, analysis, and reporting of marketing program performance, providing actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Real-Time Optimization: Implement processes for real-time campaign optimization, ensuring marketing efforts are continuously improved based on performance data.

5. Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Centre of Excellence, Sales teams, and strategic partners to ensure seamless integration of marketing strategies and efficient lead management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align marketing efforts with broader organizational goals and strategic initiatives.


By fulfilling these responsibilities, the B2B Marketing Director Innovation and Consumer Payments for Europe will play a pivotal role in driving Visa’s commercial success, ensuring that marketing strategies are not only innovative and effective but also closely aligned with sales efforts and market demands.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • B2B Marketing and/ or Product Marketing experience
  • Strong strategic thinker with a results orientation who approaches any challenge with thoughtfulness, drive, and appropriate urgency
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the marketing tech stack (sales and marketing automation and measurement tools such as Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, AEM and Google Analytics) and driving B2B digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience working in sales or B2B marketing function and / or within a marketing strategy and operations practice
  • Audience-focused mindset, with a demonstrated track record of discovering key insights
  • Financial and analytical acumen with strong ROI orientation
  • Knowledge on the agile framework and pragmatic marketing model
  • A great team member who adds energy, ideas and fun to our team and corporate culture
  • Global sensibilities and an empathetic outlook to work well with other markets and cultures around the world
