Arbetsbeskrivning

We are growing! Our technology team is looking for a Industrial Engineering (IE) Engineer.

WHO ARE WE?

We work every day to electrify the world, for a greener future. Through a thin plastic film more exactly a separator film - we make the lithium-ion battery durable and safe. It's one of the key components for the optimal functioning of the battery.

We were founded in 2003, originating in the tech-hub city of Shenzhen, China. Our business activities have been based on innovation since the outset.

Since 2021 we have established an European headquarter in Eskilstuna, Sweden! Here we will have one of Europe’s most modern production plants that will be a major contributor in electrifying transportation. We have a exciting journey ahead of us and you now have the opportunity to be a part of this!

Job responsibilities

The IE Engineer is responsible for driving productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization across production processes. The role focuses on systematic analysis, standardization, and continuous improvement to ensure stable, efficient, and competitive manufacturing operations.

The IE Engineer’s main responsibilities include:

· To analyze and optimize production processes (e.g., slurry, coating, slitting, packaging) to improve OEE, yield, and labor productivity.

· To establish, maintain, and continuously improve standard work, work instructions, and time standards.

· To conduct time studies, capacity analysis, line balancing, and bottleneck identification.

· To calculate and maintain standard cycle times, labor standards, and staffing models.

· To support production in meeting output, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

· To lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste elimination, process flow optimization).

· To monitor and analyze KPI performance related to efficiency, productivity, scrap rate, and equipment utilization.

· To provide data-driven analysis for decision-making, including investment proposals and layout optimization.

· To support new product introduction (NPI) and process transfer by validating capacity and defining production standards.

· To identify risks in processes and implement preventive measures (e.g., poka-yoke, process control logic).

· To support digitalization initiatives, including MES optimization and data accuracy improvement.

· To prepare regular reports and presentations for operations review meetings.

The focus is always operational excellence and sustainable productivity improvement. Analysis must be transparent and structured so that management clearly understands performance gaps, improvement plans, and expected results.

Cost awareness is critical. The IE Engineer supports budget preparation through capacity planning, labor forecasting, and productivity improvement estimation.

Safety is a key priority at Senior. The IE Engineer must ensure that all proposed process changes comply with HSE requirements and contribute to safe and ergonomic working conditions.

Flexibility and cross-functional collaboration are essential. The IE Engineer works closely with Production, QA, Maintenance, Planning, and other departments to achieve company goals.

Job mandate

· To define and update standard cycle times and labor standards.

· To initiate and lead efficiency and cost-reduction projects.

· To propose process improvements, layout changes, and investment needs.

· To stop or escalate processes if major efficiency loss, data integrity issues, or systemic risks are identified (in coordination with Production Manager).

· To coordinate improvement activities within Operations.

Job competence requirements

· Education level: Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related technical field.

· Required experience: Documented experience in industrial engineering, process optimization, or production improvement within a manufacturing environment. Experience from a larger organization or complex production setup is preferred.

Competence:

· Strong mathematical and statistical skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving capability (root cause analysis, 5M1E, data modeling).

· Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Experience in time study, capacity planning, OEE analysis, and cost modeling.

· Familiarity with MES systems and data-driven production environments.

· Good communication skills; ability to present data clearly to different stakeholders.

· Proficient in English (spoken and written); Swedish is an advantage.

· Experience in budget follow-up and performance reporting.

· Basic knowledge of HSE implementation and ergonomic assessment.
