Helse Fonna HF comprises four hospitals in Haugesund, Stord, Odda and Valen, as well as four district
psychiatric centres (DPS). We have more than 4,000 employees who all work purposefully to provide the
best possible treatment and care for our patients. Helse Fonna covers 19 municipalities with around
180,000 inhabitants.
The fi eld of cardiology is organized under the Cardio and pulmonary department, which in turn is part of
the medical clinic. There are currently 9 beds for cardiology, and 6 beds for intermediary intensive care
observation. Overall, this department covers the vast majority of cardiac diseases with the exception of
invasive cardiology and some other specialised subjects. The departement is in charge of pacemaker
surgery for all of the Fonna Health Trust. In february 2027 will part of the department move into new
premises.
The cardiology outpatient clinic is responsible for recovery and monitoring of cardio patients in the region.
There is an established emergency outpatient clinic for rapid intervention for patients with suspected
coronary diseases. This a highly professional environment at the forefront of cardiology.

Tasks
-Reception and nursing responsibilities for emergency and critically ill patients.
- Provide good care for patients and their next of kin.
- Initiate and continue treatment in collaboration with the doctor responsible for the patient.
- Guidance for colleagues and students in further education in cardiac nursing.
- Interpretation of ECG/rhythms (central monitor surveillance).
- Be involved in developing and improving the department's work within various focus areas.
- Work is scheduled in a three-part rotation.
Qualifi cations
- Norwegian nursing authorisation.
- Further education as an cardiac nurse.
- Relevant hospital experience at similar units.
- Familiarity with medical technical equipment.
- Knowledge of heart patients and the critically ill.
- Professionally committed and interested.
- You need to learn Norwegian language both written and oral at a high level (B2).
