Chief Information officer - TRATON Financial Services

Role Summary

TRATON Financial Services (TFS) is accelerating its digital transformation and is appointing a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its technology agenda.

With ~100 FTEs (plus ~50 externals) across Sweden, Malaysia, and India, the IT landscape is currently fragmented and infrastructure-heavy. The CIO will define and execute a modernization roadmap, simplifying legacy systems, strengthening data, automation and AI capabilities, and building a secure, scalable, and business-driven IT function.

Reporting to the CEO, the CIO will position technology as a strategic enabler of growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage. The role is based in Sweden.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the IT and digital strategy aligned with TFS and TRATON Group objectives.
• Act as trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board on all technology matters.

Transformation & Modernization

• Simplify and modernize a complex legacy landscape.
• Establish a future-ready IT operating model enabling global collaboration and local empowerment.
• Drive automation, AI, and data-driven capabilities across the organization.

Operation & Governance

• Ensure high standards in service delivery, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Optimize IT performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Manage the IT budget with a strong value-creation mindset.

Digital Enablement

• Enable innovative digital products and services that enhance customer experience and unlock new revenue streams.
• Leverage emerging technologies to drive efficiency and competitive advantage.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and inspire a global IT organization, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships across business units, Group IT, regulators, and external partners.
• Navigate a complex, matrixed stakeholder environment with credibility and influence.

Who You Are

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven track record as CIO/CDO or equivalent senior technology leader in global, matrixed environments.
• Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated industries; exposure to industrial or captive finance models is a plus.
• Strong background in infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, digital platforms, automation, and data/AI.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale IT and digital transformations.
• Experience managing global, multi-site teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field; fluent in English.
