What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to operate in a business-facing role at an international company leading and executing our legal strategy. Besides strategy related work, you will be hands-on with drafting contracts and negotiating a wide range of complex commercial agreements and more.

The role sits within the Finance department and is part of the Finance management team. You will have close collaboration with the CFO and work cross-functionally with product development, sourcing, and other functions. You will also act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and lead the Legal team, including three direct reports. The team is responsible for legal, IP, trademarks, compliance, privacy, and data protection (GDPR/DPO/HIPAA).The aim with the legal function is to streamline and integrate it closer to the business, while maintaining a smaller team size.

Most of your stakeholders are working from our Stockholm (Sweden) and Pittsburgh (US) offices, and our aim is for you to spend the majority of your time working from the Stockholm office, with the option to work remotely.

What you'll bring

We believe you have a good understanding of technology and how product development can have implications from rules and regulations. You have strong acumen for clear risk-versus-reward decisions, for identifying threats and opportunities, and the social capabilities of a strong leader. We think you are great at fostering strong relationships, inside and outside your team, and translating legal matters into simple and clear ways for stakeholders as well as mentoring your team for growth.

Since a big part of our operation is situated in the US and Europe, having an understanding of global/US regulations is considered a merit.

We are actively working with M&A and we value such experience as a bonus.

Minimum qualifications :

• Law degree from a Swedish or U. S law school or similar.
• At least 3 years of experience in a legal leadership role.
• Experience in developing and executing legal strategy, as well as hands-on experience with complex commercial agreements.
