Are you ready to take on a strategic IT Director role in a science-led, international biopharmaceutical company?

This is a role where you will set direction, challenge the business when needed, and build an IT organization that can support rapid growth in a highly regulated environment. Combining strategic leadership with operational understanding, you will act as a trusted partner to both business and finance.

What will you do as IT Director?

As IT Director at Camurus, you take overall ownership of the company’s IT strategy, architecture, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and future growth ambitions. The role is strategic at its core, while requiring enough technical depth to make informed decisions and guide the organization effectively.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Defining and driving the global IT strategy and roadmap together with the CFO

• Ensuring a secure, scalable, and fully cloud-based IT environment

• Overall accountability for IT security, cybersecurity, and IT policies

• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EMA, GDPR, NIS2)

• Leading and developing the IT organization, including internal teams and external partners

• Managing key vendors, MSPs, SaaS providers, and enterprise applications

• Owning the IT and AI budget, including investments, costs, and ROI

• Enabling scalability for acquisitions, new products, and international expansion

• Defining how AI is used safely, compliantly, and with clear business value across the organization

Who are we looking for? We are looking for an experienced and intellectually strong IT Director who can make complex environments understandable and actionable. You combine strategic perspective with hands-on understanding and thrive in organizations characterized by growth, change, and high expectations.

We believe that you:

• Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field

• Bring solid senior experience from IT operations, IT security, and IT strategy

• Have experience from regulated, compliance-driven environments and understand how to balance innovation with regulatory requirements

• Are used to scaling systems and processes in growing organizations

• Have a strong understanding of Microsoft-based environments

• Are a confident leader with a business-oriented and proactive mindset

• Have a genuine interest in emerging technologies within infrastructure, security, automation, and AI

Experience from life science is meriting but not required. Backgrounds from other highly regulated industries such as medtech, food, defense, or similar are highly relevant.
