What you'll do
The Engineering Department (EN) provides CERN with the Engineering expertise, Infrastructure Systems and Technical Coordination necessary for the design, installation, operation, maintenance and dismantling phases of the CERN accelerator complex and its experimental facilities.
The position is within the Handling Engineering Group (EN-HE), responsible for preparing, organizing and coordinating all transport and handling operations for the CERN accelerators and experiments. The Group also manages the transport of thousands of conventional and unconventional items, chemical and radioactive products each year.
As an Electromechanical Technician in EN-HE, you will be part of the Handling Equipment Maintenance (EN-HE-HEM) Section, which manages and maintains all the industrial transport, handling and lifting equipment, including more than 120 lifts to ensure the reliable performance all along its lifecycle. More precisely, you will join a team of 10 people in charge of the installation and maintenance of lifting and handling equipment at CERN, in particular lifts and Electric Overhead Traveling (EOT) cranes.
Your responsibilities
Provide input for design and draft technical specifications for lifts.
Contribute to defining optimised maintenance plans and give input for the consolidation program of the lift park.
Plan and organise the installation of lifts in collaboration with the services concerned.
Supervise contractors' activities on site, ensuring Safety during the work execution.
Elaborate relevant documentation and keep the installation files up-to-date (technical files, equipment lists, etc.).
Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to monitor the equipment performance and follow up on maintenance.
Place orders according to the existing contracts for supply and maintenance.
Your profile
Extensive experience in the installation and commissioning of a wide range of goods and passenger lifts, more specifically in the installation of long-traveling lifts.
Proven experience in the on-site supervision of contracts (installation and maintenance) of lifting and handling equipment.
Proven experience in the use of CMM Systems.
Demonstrated experience in electrical and control systems would be an asset.
Technical certificate or general secondary education or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Mechanics or Electromecanics or a related field.

Given the occupational health risks associated with this position, the selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed.
