YOUR ROLE

As a FGSE Spaceport Engineer, you play an important role in enabling safe, reliable, and efficient rocket launch operations. You are responsible for the design, development, implementation, and lifecycle ownership of ground systems supporting vehicle fluid and propulsion systems. The role combines hands-on engineering, system ownership, and close collaboration with operations, suppliers, and customers throughout testing and launch campaigns.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with coworkers and customers to analyze the requirements of ground- and vehicle systems, testing procedures, safety standards, and operational needs.
  • Oversee assembly and integration of systems and components for cryogenic fluids and gases. Coordinate with suppliers, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Have the ownership of systems and subsystems critical to the execution of rocket launch campaigns, resolving issues encountered during the life of the systems. Lead the Concept of Operations definition with the rest of the operational team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support and guidance related to system usage. Both internally and directly with the end-user/customer on site.
  • Continuous improvement of system designs, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety. Incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to drive iterative improvements.
  • Be an active console operator during tests and launch campaign chronologies in the Launch Control Center

WHO YOU ARE

To thrive in this role, you have a drive to provide excellence in technical solutions as well as a drive to learn new things. You like technical challenges, collaboration, and teamwork in an international environment. You have some years of experience working with fluid and Cryogenic systems, preferably both hardware and software.

You can describe your designs and ideas to customers and colleagues with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions in an easy and understandable way. As required in the Space business, you can write technical documentation and follow formal processes. As well as being a hands-on engineer with a taste for practical work on-site.
