Role Overview
In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe operation, isolation and control of high-voltage electrical systems while supporting project delivery on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and perform HV switching, isolation and earthing activities, and manage safety documentation for client HV networks up to 33kV
- Ensure all personnel follow approved safe systems of work and relevant safety procedures
- Assess, appoint and maintain records of competent and authorised personnel, including training and responsibility tracking
- Lead or support investigations into near misses, incidents and accidents
- Coordinate site teams and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards
- Allocate tasks in line with project timelines and commissioning plans
- Maintain compliance with statutory regulations and industry standards
- Support site teams in resolving technical or operational challenges
- Implement and uphold robust health and safety processes, including risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks
- Prepare accurate project documentation and concise reports
- Identify improvement actions and implement measures to enhance productivity
- Communicate regularly with client representatives and contribute to project meetings
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to work independently
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven teamwork, strong attention to detail and solid work ethic
- Authorisation as an Electrical Authorised Person working up to 33kV
- Experience delivering effective technical services on site and/or during planning stages
- In-depth knowledge of distribution safety rules and their practical application
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
- Valid Safe Pass, CCNSG, CSCS or equivalent certification
- Practical, solution-focused problem-solving ability
- Capacity to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and maintain daily project functionality
