Purpose

As Tech Lead for Network Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless and secure communication for our sites and plants. Together with your team, you will drive innovation and reliability, enabling the organization to operate efficiently and stay connected.

Your role

As Tech Lead for Network Services, you work closely with the engineers in your team, but also with other Tech Leads in the tech lead community. Our tech leads are community builders who can and want to contribute outside their teams, to make us better. They apply system- & scientific thinking and see beyond the interest of their own team. You can, together with your team, transform architectural- & technical principles into secure, scalable, and efficient network solutions. You understand the importance of maintaining a robust & fit-for-purpose network environment while encouraging relentless automation to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency. You have experience working closely with security teams, ensuring security and compliance are seamlessly integrated into your solutions without compromising usability. With a data-driven approach, you measure the performance, reliability, and adoption of your services, identifying areas for improvement while optimizing network usage throughout the organization.

Skills and Experience

You bring extensive experience in network design and operational troubleshooting of complex hybrid networks, combined with advanced technical expertise in WAN, LAN, WLAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, Firewall infrastructure, and routing protocols & switching. You thrive on solving challenges and improving network reliability while translating strategic goals into technical implementations. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as Python or Bash, is second nature to you, enabling you to streamline operational workflows and drive efficiency.

It’s a big advantage if you also have experience in areas like:

• Designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting large wireless networks and WiFi security protocols (e.g. WPA2, WPA3) with strong knowledge of 802.1X, preferably in Cisco ISE standards.

• Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• 
  
• Software-Defined Networking (SDN) for scalable network solutions.
• 
  
• Fluency in working with Fortinet and Cisco technologies.
• 
  
• Experience in implementing observability solutions for network infrastructure with stakeholders, ensuring integration with shared monitoring systems across Azure, on-prem, and other environments.

We are looking for a leader with a deep technical skill set, a proactive mindset, and a passion for building and managing robust networks in a dynamic, evolving environment. You apply a system thinking when you design solutions and you are well familiar with industry good practices. You have used DevOps principles in your teams before or are open to learn together with us.
